About us
Sixth Day Studios is a small, independent studio in Australia. Behind it is one person from the trades who got tired of jobs that software should have made easy, and started building the tools instead.
Where the apps come from
I didn't come from a software company. I came from the electrical trade, where the day's real work is on site and the paperwork follows you home. Every app here started as a problem I had, or someone close to me had:
- InvoiceWarden: supplier invoices piling up in an inbox, each one waiting to be matched to the right job by hand.
- RosterWarden: a church cafe roster being shuffled around by hand every month, trying to be fair to everyone.
- RamWarden: a PC grinding to a halt, and no straight answer about what was using the memory.
- OhmGrid: an estimating and takeoff suite, still in early testing.
If a tool gives someone an hour back on a Friday afternoon, it's worth building.
Why "Sixth Day"
On the sixth day of creation, God made people in his own image, and then "saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good" (Genesis 1:31).
We were made by a Creator who makes things, and made to make things ourselves. I'm a Christian, and that shapes how I work: build things that are genuinely useful, be honest about what they do, and treat the people who rely on them well. Good work, done for others, is worth doing properly.
How we work
- Straight about what an app does, and what it doesn't. If something can't fix your problem, we'll say so.
- Your data stays yours. Our apps keep your information on your own device, or send it only to the services you choose.
- Try before you pay. Free trials, fair prices, and no locking you in.
- Small and personal. When you write to support, you're writing to the person who built the app.
